Expedite and Simplify your record format conversions
FCOM© provides the ability to easily convert records from one file format to another. It is a table driven/rules based system that facilitates quick implementation and deployment of conversions. Speeding up the record conversions will, in turn, speed up your company's profit intake, as more records will be able to be processed in the same amount of time.  FCOM© can process any fixed record format; as well as handle multiple record layouts on input and/or output files. The flexibility of FCOM© is derived from its maintenance of field definitions for every file id and record id that is system input or output.

FCOM© batch processing uses "rules" to perform the conversions:

• New file to be converted? Just add the rules; no code to write.
• New fields added to an existing record? Just update the rules; no code to change.
• New record type added to a file? Just add the rules; no code to write or change.
• Mapping has to be done anytime a conversion is needed; with FCOM, the coding step is eliminated.
• Test results not quite what you wanted? Review the "rules", and make your changes online and you are ready to test again. No need to wait for coding changes to be made.  
• The online provides the ability to control the types of "rules" a user can update vs. view (i.e. conversion rule, field mapping, conversion detail or conversion detail exception). It provides accountability by logging all changes made through the online system. As an aid to the user, it also provides the ability to see which output fields, for a specific input file/record & output file/record, have not been mapped. There is also an Online Reports option, which displays selected types of rules for a specific input/output file id.

The elimination of the coding step reduces the development time for any conversion; and as a result, conversions can be implemented quicker, thereby saving time and money.
